Permanent Makeup Pre & Post Care Instructions
Pre-Care Instructions:
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine 24 hours before your appointment.
- Avoid blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil) for 48 hours unless prescribed.
- Do not tan, sunburn, or exfoliate the treatment area.
- Avoid chemical peels, facials, or RetinnA near the area for 2 weeks prior.
- No Botox or fillers in the treatment area for 2–4 weeks before.
- Arrive with clean skin and no makeup on the treatment area.
- Eat a light meal and stay well hydrated.
- Lip clients prone to cold sores should begin antiviral medication as prescribed
Post-Care Instructions:
- Gently blot the area 2–4 hours after treatment to remove lymph.
- Clean the area morning and night with a gentle, fragrancen-free cleanser.
- Apply a thin layer of aftercare ointment if advised.
- Do not pick, scratch, or peel the area.
- Avoid makeup, sweating, swimming, and sun exposure for 7–10 days.
- No facials, exfoliants, or chemical treatments for 4 weeks.
- Color will appear darker initially and soften as it heals.
- A touchnup appointment is recommended 6–8 weeks after your procedure.
Following these instructions is essential for proper healing and longnlasting results. Failure to follow aftercare may affect pigment retention.
